The traditional method for measuring crystal size distribution in the production sugar flow is to take multiple daily samples and bringing them to the laboratory for analysis. The result from the laboratory analysis is ready after some time. This means that the operator is only able to react on the results with a significant delay. During this period a vast amount of sugar has been loaded to the silos.

In-line measurements provide a detailed analysis of dry sugar and can be used to advantage in several places in the process.
Receive new test results every 5-10 minutes
When measuring and analyzing sugar crystal size distributions directly in the production stream, it is crucial that the test results are always representative. The SIZELAB In-Line is designed to continuously measure and analyze the sugar crystal size distribution coming directly from the production line every 5-10 minutes.
Live data from the analysis is provided to the operators in the controlling system, who instantly can react to the results. This can be used to regulate production processes and to ensure that the right product specification is transported to the silo or to check if screening sieves are damaged.
High level of documentation
SIZELAB In-Line can advantageously be installed at different stages in the production line to automatize and streamline workflows. When SIZELAB In-Line is installed in the sugar flow to silo storage, data is continuously provided to the operator to ensure the quality of the boiling process. Furthermore, the sugar going into the silo are always fully documented.
Before leaving the factory
After the screening in packaging areas, SIZELAB In-Line is used to investigate if screens are damaged and to ensure correct sugar sizes before delivery to customers. This helps reduce customer complaints and possible product recalls.
